Arsenal highlighted their top-four credentials for a top-four finish by thrashing Bournemouth 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Goals from Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Laurent Koscielny, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette put the Cherries to the sword.

It was a stunning performance from Unai Emery’s outfit and there is optimism that a mid-season blip is now behind them.

After being benched for the midweek win over Southampton, Ozil was handed the chance to shine from the start against Eddie Howe’s men.

He didn’t disappoint.

Just four minuted had lapsed when he scored a neat finish to put the Gunners in front.

Right now he is playing as though he has a real point to prove and that bodes well for Emery.

The 30-year-old hasn’t played anywhere near as much as he would have liked this season. The form he is showing right now, however, is making him undroppable.

Back in January the German turned down a loan move to PSG, according to the Daily Mail. 

That is now proving a wise move by the player as he thrives following Emery’s decision to give him the chance of a revival.
