Could both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur be looking for a manager in the coming months?
Spurs are obviously already on the lookout after sacking Jose Mourinho in April, while the pressure is mounting on Gunners boss Mikel Arteta following last night’s Europa League exit.
Arsenal crashed out of the competition after a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Unai Emery’s Villarreal, a result that all-but ended their hopes of qualifying for European football next season.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners board is disappointed with how their season has fizzled out.
The outlet adds that pressure from inside the Emirates is building on Arteta, who’s running out of time to convince the hierarchy he is the man to lead Arsenal forward in the long term.
Both Arsenal and Spurs have been linked with one coach in particular over the past few weeks – departing Roma boss Paulo Fonseca.
Last week, journalist Tancredi Palmieri claimed, in conversation with Tuttomercatoweb, that the 48-year-old has “been contacted by Arsenal”.
Meanwhile, Ian McGarry recently told the Transfer Window Podcast that Fonseca, who is to be replaced by Jose Mourinho at the end of the season, has been offered to both Spurs and Celtic.
The Portuguese joined the Giallorossi in 2019 after winning the Ukrainian league and cup double in three seasons with Shakhtar Donetsk, and has nine trophies to his name.
In, 2017, he told The Telegraph of his dream to manage in the Premier League.
“All coaches want to go to England and I am one,” said Fonseca. “I have this dream and I believe this can happen. I believe a lot this can happen. If it’s soon or not, I have this dream.

“I have a big, big passion about the game and the atmosphere in England is amazing. I hope one day to live it. It’s the biggest league in the world.
“For any coach, to work in England can be amazing. You have the best coaches and the best players.”
Fonseca seems to tick boxes for both Arsenal and Spurs – a young manager whose style of play is aesthetically pleasing and efficient, an eagerness to develop individual players and make the most of his current resources, and a track record in winning silverware.
But if Palmieri’s report is true and the Gunners have already contacted him, they may have just snuck in ahead of Spurs for his services if they do choose to part company with Arteta.
