Mikel Arteta has now predicted if Arne Slot will make Liverpool better next season after Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to the Reds last night in pre-season.
A frantic first-half with goals from Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho were enough for Liverpool to claim their second win of their tour of the United States, with Kai Havertz scoring a consolation goal for Arsenal.
With the Anfield side not making a single signing this summer, the Reds’ new manager has been getting familiar with his new side heading into the Premier League season, with Jarell Quansah noting what’s different between Slot and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
And Arteta has now shared if he thinks Slot will make Liverpool better in the new campaign.

Slot tipped to take Liverpool up another level by Arteta
Speaking to the press after their 2-1 loss, Arteta praised Slot having just seen Liverpool comfortably beat his Arsenal side, with the former Manchester City coach tipping his Dutch counterpart to take the Reds to a new level.
Arteta said when asked if Liverpool will be better under Slot next season: “I think so. We all have to start competing and earning our right to show how good we are. But the team’s looking good. With the games I’ve seen in pre-season, it’s clear what he‘s been trying to implement. It was a tough game for us.”
Indeed, Liverpool are set for a tactical evolution under Slot in the new season, and Arteta was also impressed with the slight changes the former Feyenoord manager has made on his new team in pre-season this summer.
Arteta said on Slot’s tactical changes: “There are certain differences. Every coach has his touch. There are certain individuals that make the characteristics of the team as well, one is the style of play and then the DNA of certain players that put the stamp on the team. You can see that in what he’s doing.”

Arteta praise could hint towards another open Premier League title race
Heading into the new season, only the Gunners and City have been mentioned as the two teams who could challenge for the title, with Gabriel Agbinlahor already predicting Arsenal to win the Premier League.
Yet after last night’s results and Arteta’s subsequent praise, there’s a real chance that Liverpool could be another contender in the Premier League title race, especially if Slot can finally get signings over the line before the window closes.
Indeed, Liverpool suffered badly from injuries last season despite leading the table for quite some weeks, and under Slot, there’s good reason for fans to be excited about challenging for the title if the Dutch coach can get everything spot on.
