Arsenal have made their move to sign Manuel Locatelli, that is according to Sassuolo CEO Geovanni Carnevali on Sky Sports.
Arsenal have been linked with the central midfielder and it appears that they have now made their move in the race to land him.
Unfortunately for Arsenal Juventus are also said to be keen on the Italian international.
But it seems that Mikel Arteta’s side’s interest is now ramping up a gear.
“Arsenal have made an official bid for Locatelli. They are pushing hard to sign Manuel & it’s an important bid… we will see,” Carnevali said.
The appeal of Locatelli
The appeal in Arsenal signing Locatelli is obvious.
The Sassuolo midfielder’s profile has risen significantly at Euro 2020, where he has already notched three goals.

Locatelli was actually replaced by Marco Verratti in Italy’s last match, but if he doesn’t make another start in the competition, he will still be able to reflect on some excellent performances.
His attacking instincts could serve Arsenal well for next campaign too.
Arsenal need a partner for Thomas Partey, with Granit Xhaka looking almost certain to depart.
And there are few more appealing options on the market than Locatelli.
