Arsenal make contact to sign two players from Edu Gaspar’s new club, one of them is a striker

With Arsenal failing to make any new signings in the winter transfer window, they will have a list of targets in mind to sign in the summer of 2025.

Mikel Arteta would be hoping that the Gunners’ higher-ups offer him the requisite help in the summer to strengthen his squad.

Arteta would especially need the Arsenal board’s support if his side end up failing to win a trophy once again by the end of the ongoing season — having already been eliminated from both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

The Spaniard will be delighted that work is being already being done behind the scenes to bring fresh faces in through the door, with Arsenal scouting Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg during Sunderland’s 3-2 win against Middlesbrough.

Similarly, Arsenal could sign Martin Zubimendi after agreeing personal terms with him last month to ensure they win the race for his signature in the summer.

Charalampos Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis have caught the North Londoners’ eye as well.

Arsenal make enquiry to sign to sign Olympiacos duo Charalampos Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis

Kostoulas, a striker and Mouzakitis, a central midfielder are aged 17 and 18 respectively and play for Olympiacos.

A detail to keep in mind is that former Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar looks set to play a leading role at the Greek club, alongside other teams owned by Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marianakis.

Birmingham World have reported that Arsenal and Aston Villa have made contact with Olympiacos for both Kostoulas and Mouzakitis.

The report also claims that Manchester United and Brentford have sent scouts to watch the teenage duo in action.

Despite being as young as they are, Kostoulas and Mouzakitis are playing regular football — starting 21 and 20 games respectively.

Whether Arsenal view the pair as first-team players is the question, as it could be argued that both players might be far too inexperienced at the highest level to especially help them win the Premier League title if they were signed.

Arsenal could be taking Gabriel Martinelli strategy by targeting Charalampos Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis

However, when the Gunners signed Gabriel Martinelli in 2019, he too was just a teenager.

But in a matter of a few years, the Brazilian became a starter at the Emirates Stadium.

If Arsenal do ramp up their interest in Kostoulas and Mouzakitis, they must view them as two young players with very bright futures in the game.

While their arrivals may not be met with widespread excitement, they could prove to be low-risk yet high-reward moves.
