‘Welcome’: Leeds United fans buzzing as Eddie Nketiah joins from Arsenal

The Gunners ace is to stay at Elland Road for the 2019/20 campaign.

Eddie Nketiah completed a season-long loan deal to Leeds United prior to the transfer deadline, as confirmed on the club’s official website.

The 20-year-old has signed from Premier League outfit Arsenal and will be straight into the squad for Saturday’s game with Nottingham Forest.

Nketiah is an exciting proposition for the Whites. He is highly-rated by the Gunners and ways heavily involved in their pre-season campaign.

The lively frontman made his debut in 2017 and has scored three goals in 19 outings for the first-team.

A frequent goalscorer for the Arsenal development squads, Nketiah will fill the void vacated by Kemar Roofe who left for Anderlecht this week.

It has been a strange old summer for Leeds. Roofe and Pontus Jansson have departed and been replaced with several high profile loans.

Helder Costa has joined from Wolves, Jack Harrison from Manchester City and Jack Clarke from Tottenham have all joined Nketiah.

Leeds fans had grown disgruntled with the lack of activity leading up to the deadline; although it is fair to say they are happy with their latest recruit.

Following the announcement of Nketiah we took a selection of tweets from an ecstatic army of Leeds supporters:
