Arsenal and Celtic have reached an agreement over the transfer of Kieran Tierney and the defender is now in London to complete the formalities.

The news was confirmed on BBC Sport and should go through prior to the 5pm deadline later on today.

The left-back hasn’t played since 4th May with an injury so wasn’t part of the Hoops’ squad that drew 1-1 with Cluj in the Champions League last night.

Tierney will make a £25 million switch to the Premier League, according to The Guardian.

Despite his tender years, the 22-year-old has played 170 times for the first-team having risen through the ranks at the Glaswegian giants.

His departure will leave boss Neil Lennon with a sizeable void to fill on the left-hand side of his back four.

Tierney will compete with Nacho Monreal for the left-back berth and will relish the chance to test himself in a top European league.

Emery has previously stated his intentions to add defensive reinforcements to his squad and Tierney is likely to be followed into the Emirates by at least one central defender.
