Arsenal are facing an anxious wait to see if they can tie down one of their top young talents, Khayon Edwards, down to a new contract, with Chelsea, Leeds, Newcastle and more circling.
The Daily Mail has reported today how Edwards has yet to agree a new contract with the Gunners. The teenager is regarded as one of the top prospects at Arsenal, and has already fired in a number of goals this year.
However, per the Mail, Arsenal have offered Edwards a number of new deals and as yet, have failed to convince him to put pen to paper. That has apparently alerted a whole host of German clubs, as well as Chelsea, Leeds, Brighton, Newcastle, and Southampton.

The situation with Khayon Edwards is the latest in a line of young players who the Gunners have struggled to tie down to fresh terms. Folarin Balogun only signed a new deal last year, while current first-teamer and Hale End graduate Eddie Nketiah is now refusing a new deal.
Arsenal are still hoping to get Edwards to agree to terms. However, they face an anxious wait while others wait and see how the situation pans out.
TBR’s View: Arsenal Need To Get On Top Of This
While there is probably more to these things, it does seem like Arsenal are getting into a bad habit of not getting these types of situation sorted quickly.
If they value Khayon Edwards as this report suggests, then they simply have to get the deal done. Whether that be by offering more money, game-time assurances, or a clear plan for his future.
The vultures are already circling it seems. And if the Gunners fail, then you can be sure that the other clubs will come in and mop up. That, of course, is the last thing Arsenal and Per Mertesacker wants.
