The Gunners are expected to be active in the upcomng transfer window. Mikel Arteta would love to strengthen a few areas of their squad, and Netz is said to be on Arsenal‘s shortlist now.

Arsenal are interested in Luca Netz
Arsenal have a really strong squad at the moment, but a few areas of the pitch needs strengthening.
The Gunners are expected to go after a new striker, while a central midfielder is also on the agenda. Arsenal need a new wide player too, preferably someone who could give Bukayo Saka a break.
Mikel Arteta may also have to invest in a new goalkeeper if Aaron Ramsdale leaves the club.
Now, if a report from Dean Jones on GiveMeSport is to be believed, the Gunners are scouting a new left-back too, and Borussia Monchengladbach defender Luca Netz is on their shortlist.
The report claims that Leeds United, Chelsea and Manchester United are all interested in the 20-year-old German, who is having a fine season in the Bundesliga.
Netz, who will enter the final two years of his contract, has been described as a “quality ball player, strong in defensive duels and consistently provides an attacking presence down the left-wing (Total Football Analysis).”

Netz rejected Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City
Not many players in world football would snub Pep Guardiola‘s offer to join him at Manchester City. Netz is one of the rare few.
Back in 2018, when Netz was impressing as a teenager in Germany, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City came calling. He was still at Hertha Berlin at the time, and he made the bold decision of rejecting a move to the Premier League champions.
Speaking about his decision in 2021, Netz reiterated that he was right to reject City. He even claimed he’d snub Guardiola again if he received another offer because he has a ‘clear plan’ for his career.
He told BILD: “I think it’s nonsense to switch to Man City at such a young age. Even if I were to get another offer now, I would turn it down.
“I have a clear plan, and it’s simply too early for the Premier League. It’s important for me to play for Borussia, to gain experience and to develop steadily. Then we will see what happens in a few years.”
