Alexandre Lacazette is currently doing his very best to show why Arsenal need to consider offering him a new contract.
The Frenchman has scored five goals in his last six appearances in the Premier League. His form has left him four goals clear of any of his teammates in the Gunners’ scoring charts.

Nevertheless, it appears that there is a chance that his time at the Emirates could come to an end this summer.
The Telegraph reports that his current deal expires at the end of next season. And it is noted that he had been expected to leave this summer for much of this campaign.
The report hints that a change of plan could be considered given his recent form. However, it appears that Arsenal will be open to offers in the coming months.

Some may feel that this summer is the right time to sell. But one aspect of The Telegraph’s report should arguably set alarm bells ringing.
They suggest that Arsenal could ask for just £15 million for the 29-year-old.
Admittedly, that may leave Arsenal with the funds to go after reported target Odsonne Edouard.
But surely, Mikel Arteta’s men would be better off holding onto Lacazette – who earns £150,000-a-week, according to The Sun – for the final year of his deal than selling him for just £15 million.
Edouard may be on the market for a similar price. But there are unlikely to be many strikers who could fill the void Lacazette would leave available for anything like that sort of figure.
Losing Lacazette on a free next year would not be ideal. But if he can reach double figures once again next year, he would surely be worth a lot more to Arsenal than £15 million.
