It seems like Arsenal’s dream of signing Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak will remain unfulfilled this summer.
Mikel Arteta loves Isak and understandably so, considering he is one of the best number nines in the world.
But Newcastle’s priority is to keep Isak and the Magpies have no incentive to sell the Swedish international as their PSR situation is under control.
Andrea Berta seemed to have quickly moved on to other targets aside from the 25-year-old after taking on his sporting directorial role at the Emirates Stadium.
Benjamin Sesko could be Arsenal’s Alexander Isak
One of them is Benjamin Sesko, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal for months.
But now, Arsenal are in concrete talks to sign Sesko ahead of next season.

While the RB Leipzig marksman is yet to hit Alexander Isak’s heights, he too might pose concerns like the latter may have as his goalscoring numbers did not look particularly impressive at Real Sociedad.
Looking at both players’ performances over league campaigns, Sesko perhaps has the edge over Isak — having scored 14 and 13 goals respectively in two seasons while Isak hit double figures just once (17) in three league seasons.
But at Newcastle, the former Borussia Dortmund gem played in a system that suited his game and went on to become a superstar.
Sesko, 22, could join Arsenal at the same age Isak made his move to Newcastle for a record-breaking fee of £63 million (Sky Sports).
Jurgen Klopp rates Sesko highly as he looks like one of the best young strikers in the world and under Mikel Arteta, he could take his game to another level as well.
What “everyone” in football keeps saying about Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal are also a much better side than RB Leipzig and theoretically, they would create many more chances for the youngster to convert.
Arsenal have admired Sesko for ages and even Mikel Merino managed to score seven goals in a league season where he played most of his time up front, the Slovenian could be in for a treat.
Journalist Charles Watts revealed how the Slovenian international is viewed within the game, initially saying: “I can understand Leipzig valuing him very highly.”
“He’s clearly hugely talented, he’s in demand.”
“Everyone you talk to who know football far better than I do seems to think that Sesko has it in him to become one of the best strikers in the world because of the attributes he has.”
Besides, Arsenal still want to sign Viktor Gyokeres.
The Sporting CP hitman, who scored 54 goals last season could ease the goalscoring burden on the former Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid.
Regardless of whether Gyokeres signs for Arsenal or not, Isak’s story should inspire Sesko himself if he makes a move to North London this summer.
