Gabriel Jesus has had injury problems for quite some time now.
The Brazilian’s long-standing knee issues have flared up again, and that’s led to him missing the Gunners’ last two games.
Arsenal have played fantastically without Jesus in the team, but they’re always a stronger side when the Brazilian is available for selection.
Speaking on ShotsTV, Chris Wheatley has been discussing Jesus’ fitness, and he says that there is hope within Arsenal that he will be fit before the game against Burnley this weekend and available to play.

Arsenal hoping Gabriel Jesus will be fit for Saturday
Wheatley shared what he knows about the ‘brilliant‘ striker.
“Yeah he’s on the mend from a knee injury Gabriel Jesus. There’s hope he will be fit for Burnley. Mikel Arteta hasn’t confirmed it, but he did say it was a short-term issue, so there is a bit of positivity there. Jesus will hope to be available for that game against Burnley on Saturday,” Wheatley said.
Boost
This is a big boost for Arsenal.
Of course, the Gunners have been fantastic without Jesus in recent weeks, but having him as an option, even off the bench, adds a new dynamic to the attack.
Arsenal will need a deep squad as we head into the business end of the season if they are to challenge for the Champions League and the Premier League title, and Jesus’s presence as an attacking option is big for the Gunners.
Whether or not Jesus comes straight back into the starting XI remains to be seen, but the fact that he may be available is great for Mikel Arteta, and adds that extra layer of security in terms of attacking depth in a number of positions.
Jesus’ return may well make the difference in the title race this season.
