Arsenal have the new Serge Gnabry knocking on the first-team door, fans should be buzzing – TBR View

Arsenal have done superbly to tie Kido Taylor-Hart down to his first professional contract.

The in-demand Gunners academy graduate saw his previous deal expire this summer.

Taylor-Hart had apparently attracted interest from clubs in the Premier League, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

However, Arsenal confirmed on Monday that the 18-year-old had put pen to paper on a contract at the Emirates.

And Gunners fans should be ecstatic about this as they have a real talent on their hands for the long term.

Key player for Arsenal in future?

Taylor-Hart is a skilful, speedy two-footed player who can play both as a winger and a No 10.

A boyhood Arsenal fan, he joined the Gunners aged seven.

Taylor-Hart has worked his way up the ranks to become one of the brightest youngsters at Hale End.

Acut above at age level for Arsenal last season, he registered 11 goals and five assists in 29 appearances.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal believe Taylor-Hart has the potential to be a key player in the future.

Arsenal gem inspired by Serge Gnabry

And the player himself has spoken of how he looks up to Serge Gnabry and is inspired by his style of play.

Admitting he was never the most clinical of players, Taylor-Hart told the club website: “The moment that made me realise that was when I was away with England Under-16s and I wasn’t called back after a tournament.

“They told me I didn’t take a single shot in the whole tournament and that I need to become more deadly in the final third.

“Since then, I’ve been working on adding that clinical side to my game – and I think it’s paying off!

“Serge Gnabry is a player I really look up to in that regard.

“He was always a very talented player here at Arsenal, but he never put up crazy numbers and over time he’s become more direct, aggressive and sharp with his runs and shot selection.

“I want to add that to my game too.”

According to football.london, Per Mertesacker’s plan for the youngster is to ensure he gets a full season of Under-23s football, while he will also train regularly with the first team.

Arsenal appear to have the next Gnabry knocking on the first-team door, and the future definitely looks bright for him and for the club.
