Arsenal have now made English football history after recording a 6-0 win over Sheffield United on Monday night.

Goals from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, Ben White and an own goal from Jayden Bogle secured the famous victory.

So, what piece of English football history have Arsenal made after Monday night’s win? Let’s take a look…

Arsenal make English football history

Well, Arsenal are now the first team in the Football League to have won by five goals or more in three successive away matches.

Mikel Arteta has overseen a quite remarkable start to 2024 – the Gunners just cannot stop thrashing opponents.

Before Monday’s dismantling of Sheffield United, Arsenal had gone to Turf Moor and hammered Burnley by a 5-0 scoreline.

Prior to that victory, the north Londoners travelled across to east London and handed out a 6-0 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium.

17 goals across three away matches – without conceding once – is a truly special run for any Premier League side, let alone one who are not really playing with a recognised striker.

This is even without mentioning Arsenal’s form at the Emirates Stadium.

In Arsenal’s last three home games, fans have been treated to a 5-0 win over Crystal Palace, a 3-1 victory against Liverpool and a resounding 4-1 win over Newcastle.

Arsenal are setting numerous records

This is not the only piece of history Arsenal have made in 2024 – a club record has also been smashed.

No Arsenal side had ever began a calendar year with five straight league wins before the Gunners did it a few weeks ago, and that record is now being extended to levels that may never be matched.

Whatever happened on that mid-season trip to Dubai at the beginning of January, it has certainly paid off.
