Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been praised by Danny Murphy on talkSPORT.

The Gunners ace is a “really powerful, intelligent” player whose best is yet to come, said the pundit.

Partey arrived joined Arsenal last year to much fanfare given his heroics for Atletico Madrid and Ghana.

However, he has struggled with injury and fitness issues since arriving at the Emirates.

Partey suffered an ankle injury in pre-season against Chelsea, which saw him miss the first four competitive games of Arsenal’s season.

The 28-year-old did, however, return for the 1-0 win over Norwich, coming off the bench.

And last Saturday, he started in the 1-0 triumph at Burnley, where he did well, making several good blocks.

Partey came off in the 75th minute with Arsenal a goal up, after signalling to the bench that he couldn’t continue.

He is yet to complete 90 minutes this season, but Murphy is optimistic about the levels he can – and should – reach.

Murphy said on talkSPORT (11:51am, 20/9/21): “I have seen a lot of Partey.

“I don’t think yet people who don’t know enough about him have seen the best of him.

“He is a really powerful intelligent footballer who is influential in that middle of the park in terms of protection of those back players.”
