Reuell Walters is one of many young players coming through Arsenal’s academy, and the 19-year-old could have his breakthrough year in 2024.

The Gunners have one of the best youth systems in the country. Hale End has produced incredible talents over the years, and Walters is one of the most promising youngsters at Arsenal right now.

Reuell Walters is one to watch at Arsenal in 2024

Reuell Walters joined Arsenal as a 17-year-old back in 2021.

The young defender was previously a part of Tottenham Hotspur‘s academy, but he decided to leave them and take a break from football.

He returned in 2021 and after impressing everyone at Arsenal, the youngster signed his first professional contract in February of the following year.

Walters is as versatile as they come.

The teenager can play at right-back and in either central defensive positions. He has also been used as a right-winger at times and has done really well for the Arsenal academy.

Walters has trained with the first team on plenty of occasions too, and he was even a part of The Gunners’ pre-season tour to the USA and Germany.

Walters has a massive future ahead of him, and we think he will make his senior Arsenal debut at some point in 2024.

Walters has been tipped to emulate William Saliba

If you ask an Arsenal fan who their best defender is, they’ll immediately say William Saliba.

The Frenchman has been incredible for the Gunners since he made his Premier League debut on the opening day of last season. He is arguably the best centre-back in the country now and is a brilliant role model for young players to look up to.

Walters is still a long way off that level, but Football Transfers revealed last year that some insiders at Arsenal strongly believe “he can become as good as William Saliba.”

Mikel Arteta has shown he isn’t afraid to give young players an opportunity at Arsenal. Walters is worthy of a chance, and we really think he will become a top player in the coming years.
