Atletico Madrid have been rocked with the news that influential forward Antoine Griezmann will depart the Wanda Metropolitano this summer.
The news which has been confirmed by BBC Sport has alerted several top European clubs towards his availability.
Barcelona are thought to be considering paying his buyout clause of £104 million (BBC Sport), although it remains to be seen if anyone else will edge forward for his services.
Some supporters of English clubs will naturally be dreaming of signing Griezmann. None more so than Arsenal. The Gunners would relish the chance to land the forward, although finances dictate that they can’t.
That hasn’t stopped their fans crying our for Griezmann to arrive at the Emirates Stadium on social media. Fans of the North London-based club are excited to see what players Emery does bring to the club this summer as he goes about rebuilding his squad.
French outlet Telefoot had recently reported interest in Alexandre Lacazette. The Catalans signing Griezmann might actually be good news for the Gunners in that sense, as it could end their desire to sign the Arsenal man.
Following news of Griezmann’s will to leave Atletico, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to ask for him to get himself over to the Emirates Stadium for the next chapter of his career.

Please sign Griezmann, you don’t need Lacazette, he is happy with Arsenal 😊
Cheers, whole Arsenal community

If Arsenal need a technically gifted creator and enabler willing to work for the team, willing to sacrifice. If Unai Emery wants a ‘Van Dijk’ signing, a statement buy. If Lacazette needs another best mate to link with: Antoine Griezmann.
If only he wasn’t 28 & I wasn’t dreaming.

Griezmann to Barcelona hopefully means Laca stays at Arsenal and keeps Auba with us too. Real Madrid, Barca, La Liga…do one.

Not a popular opinion and I know we have a very little chance but if Arsenal secures Champion League should we go for Antoine Griezmann. Just a dream but if someone in Arsenal make that happen. We will not get a better winger than him

I know it probably will not happen, but as Griezmann has announced he will be leaing Atleti in the summer, could you imagine him coming to Arsenal🥶
