Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka had started to prove his critics wrong prior to the global health pandemic suspending the Premier League and in the process, he threw some Charlie Nicholas quotes down his throat.
In October, the Sky Sports pundit said that Xhaka had no future at the Emirates Stadium after the midfielder had a public spat with supporters during a game with Crystal Palace.

Following that game, the Switzerland star did sit out for three Premier League fixtures. Since Mikel Arteta arrived at the club, however, he has been handed a new lease of life.
Back in October, Nicholas made some comments which have now left him to eat humble pie.
He told Sky Sports: “He’s representing Arsenal as a captain and it’s unacceptable to think you’re as big as anything at the club. His behaviour was atrocious and I don’t see him having a future at the club.”
Not only does it seem as though Xhaka will have a future at the club, but he is also looking like a brand new player under Arteta.
He has featured in the last eight Premier League matches, with the Gunners failing to lose any of them.
The man signed from Borussia Monchengladbach for £35 million is enjoying a resurgence and Arteta is clearly a fan of his work.
There is every reason right now to think that Xhaka could still have a future for the foreseeable. He is protecting the back four with aplomb and looks to be enjoying his football again.

The £100,000-a-week marvel has got his head down, focused on his football and is clearly relishing life without the captain’s armband.
Arsenal fans will hope he can continue in this form and if he does so, he might totally win his critics over.
