Arsenal won their first Premier League match of the 2019/20 campaign on Sunday, defeating Newcastle 1-0 at St James’ Park.
It was the turn of the Under-23s last night as they got their season underway with a game against Blackburn Rovers.
Steve Bould’s men were brilliant during the contest running out 3-1 winners to kick their season off in some style.

Emile Smith-Rowe and Rob Holding made their long-awaited return to action following injury problems.
The name on everyone’s lips following the contest, however, was Folarin Balogun.
A centre-forward, he netted a hat-trick to give Arsenal the perfect start to their domestic campaign at Under-23 level.
All three of his goals last night were from the penalty spot, although he did win two of them himself.
His goalscoring prowess will come as no surprise to some supporters. For the Under-18s last season, he netted 28 goals in as many games.

Eddie Nketiah has joined Leeds on loan and there is some possibility that Balogun may deputise for the first-team should Unai Emery choose to rotate his pack in the cup games.
If he keeps firing in stunning hat-tricks like last night he has every chance of making it at the Emirates Stadium.
With a bright future on the horizon, we looked at what Arsenal fans were saying after Balogun’s sensational hat-trick:
