Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos posted on Twitter last night himself holding a club shirt – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have taken that as a sign that he will be leaving them.
The Gunners signed the Spaniard last summer on a season-long loan from Real Madrid and he’s made a positive impact the Emirates Stadium.
Despite an injury problem hitting him midway through the campaign, he’s made 24 appearances across all competitions so far and has started to look impressive under manager Mikel Arteta.
The central midfielder started the last three consecutive league games to help pick up nine points before football was suspended until the beginning of April due to the coronavirus outbreak.
A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media would like to see Ceballos move to North London on a permanent basis, but fear that his latest post is a sign he will return to Madrid at the end of his loan.
The 23-year-old had started to look extremely effective as a deep-lying playmaker before the break and has clearly won over some of the fanbase.
It’s unclear on how clubs will get around the expiration of loan deals if the season is extended beyond usual and they could do with the Madrid loanee to try help them force themselves into the European spots.
