Arsenal fans will love what Thomas Partey did earlier as footage emerges from 5-1 win
Earlier today, Arsenal recorded a 5-1 win over Ipswich in their first pre-season friendly of the summer, ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Eddie Nketiah was the star of the show after he scored a hat-trick against the Tractor Boys, with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Folarin Balogun finding the net as well.
However, it was a man who didn’t get on the scoresheet – Thomas Partey – who arguably pulled off the most eye-catching moment.
What’s the story?
Well, in the buildup to Balogun’s goal, the Ghana international pulled off an incredible first-time pass into Nketiah, putting him through on goal before he unselfishly squared the ball to give his teammate a tap in.
You can see the 7-second footage of Partey’s amazing pass below.

To see that pass, let alone execute it with a perfectly weighted ball, takes some ability – to say the least.
Pre-season is all about fitness and getting sharp, although there is no denying that Partey’s technical ability and awareness are in fine shape ahead of the new campaign.
Thomas Partey can dominate for Arsenal
Since his £45m move from Atlético Madrid, we are yet to see the best of Partey, due to niggling injuries hindering his progress.
However, if Mikel Arteta can find a way to keep his No.5 fit all season, the 29-year-old is talented enough to become a leading player in the Premier League.
On that note, the Gunners now have depth in that area, so Arteta should be able to manage his workload effectively with smart rotation.
Partey has the physique to be a menace defensively, while he also has the guile to make an impact going forward too, as the 7-second video proves.
With Martin Ødegaard and Fabio Vieira either side of him, we expect big things from Arsenal’s midfield next season.
