Ethan Nwaneri’s future at Arsenal has been a hot topic for discussion at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Chelsea have been linked to Nwaneri and are believed to have asked about signing the exceptional young talent during talks over Noni Madueke.

The young winger’s future in North London has been cast into doubt, amid the Gunners looking to bring in new signings for their attack this summer.

Mikel Arteta has now made a decision which could seriously benefit the Hale End product and shows why the North London club are planning for him to be a key player for them next term.

Ethan Nwaneri given extra time off for Arsenal pre-season

Arsenal have opted to grant Ethan Nwaneri additional time off ahead of his return to pre-season training, according to Charles Watts.

The teenager has been given three to four weeks off following his involvement at the European Championships with England U-21.

The 18-year-old featured in all six of the young Three Lions’ matches as they won the competition in Slovakia earlier this summer.

The Gunners have already made the trip to La Manga for the start of their pre-season camp, and there has been some concern amongst supporters as to why the youngster hadn’t yet travelled.

Watts told his YouTube channel: “In terms of why he’s not in La Manga yet because he was playing for England U-21 at the Euros this summer.

“So he’s got extra time off, he’s not been asked to come back yet, the club want to give him three or four weeks of holiday and rest after the Euros before they bring him back into the squad. So that’s the reason why he’s not there yet.”

This is brilliant news for the North London club, as the winger will be eager to get going next season and should be well-rested ahead of the campaign.

The Gunners are going to need a fully fit squad next season to cope with the demands of going far in the Premier League title race and the Champions League.

The youngster will now have had the chance to be fully rested ahead of the new season, which should allow him to be firing on all cylinders.

Nwaneri was spotted in a Sporting CP shirt, which the club’s supporters felt was him hinting at the possibility of Viktor Gyokeres’ arrival.

Arsenal tipped to sign Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera next week

Arsenal have just been tipped to complete deals for both Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera this week by Henry Winter.

Earlier this week, Arsenal struck a deal for Madueke, and the winger is expected to be announced as their new arrival very soon.

However, as TBR Football revealed, Mosquera’s move to Arsenal has hit complications, although it sounds like these could now get resolved.

The defender currently has a release clause worth around £17 million, but the Gunners are keen to sign him for less than that.

He is set to enter the final year of his contract with the Spanish club, although Valencia are desperately trying to get him to renew.
