Arsenal fans want to sell Aubameyang to raise funds to reshape squad this summer

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is wanted by Chinese Super League clubs, following the Gunners’ failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League, according to the Times.

They report that Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG are both keen on the Gabonese hitman and believe he could be tempted to China.

They might well be right – the report says that Guangzhou had a move lined up for Aubameyang in 2018, only to see it collapse weeks before the striker joined Arsenal.

It also claims that Tianjin Quanjian had a £71 million deal in place in 2017 but it failed to beat the transfer deadline – so could this summer see it third time lucky in terms of Aubameyang’s Asian adventure?

Aubameyang was the joint top goalscorer in the Premier League last season and in April, Unai Emery told Sky Sports that he thinks the striker is ‘perfect’ for Arsenal.

While the Arsenal fans appear to rate him, they want Aubameyang sold so long as it can raise the funds required to overhaul a squad that has been substandard for many seasons now.

We’ve put together the best of the reaction as after years of bemoaning their best players leaving, Arsenal fans want it to happen in order to fund overall improvements…
