Some Arsenal fans on social media have expressed their desire to see William Saliba handed his debut for the club against Leicester City in the EFL Cup tomorrow.
The defender has not yet been seen in Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad in 2020/21 following his £27 million move from Saint-Etienne (BBC Sport), although he was on the bench for Community Shield and did face Aston Villa in a pre-season friendly.

The Spaniard has so far resisted temptation to call on the teenager, using Rob Holding, Gabriel Magalhaes and Kieran Tierney against Fulham and then Sead Kolasinac replacing the injured Scot against West Ham United.
At the moment Arsenal have Shkodran Mustafi and Pablo Mari injured, so some have been a little perplexed as to why Saliba has not been in and around the first-team.
But it seems clear that Arteta wants to ease Saliba in.
The Frenchman did appear for the U23s against Brighton on Friday, and he may be hoping to finally see some first-team minutes at the King Power Stadium.

The third-round clash with the Foxes could very well be a good opportunity for Saliba to prove his Premier League credentials to Arteta.
One might think there’s a realistic chance of him starting, as he has been pictured in training with the first-team ahead of the clash.
It is certainly something a lot of Arsenal fans on Twitter want to see:
