Arsenal fans want to see Jack Wilshere re-signed

Arsenal fans have got a real affinity with Jack Wilshere.

The 29-year-old has a big history with the club, having come through the youth system at the club and making his name at The Emirates.

Injury issues have decimated the midfielder’s career, though.

Currently, Wilshere is without a club having not been kept on at Bournemouth by Scott Parker over the summer.

Mikel Arteta recently spoke about Wilshere in his press conference ahead of the weekend (via Charles Watts on Twitter).

7 Football Clubs With Restrictive Transfer Policies

Arteta stated:

“We are in conversations with Jack to understand what he needs, what he is looking for. We are willing to help him.”

However, when asked if he could play for Arsenal again, Arteta quashed it, saying:

“I wouldn’t take it that far.”

However, many fans have been struck by nostalgia as Wilshere is set to train with the club again.

He certainly has a big history for club and country.

He made 34 appearances for England, scoring twice.

Whilst for Arsenal, he made 198 appearances, scoring 14 goals and assisting a further 30 (Transfermarkt).

He could be set to add to that if the Arsenal fans have their way.

They’re looking at their club’s midfield and seeing a place for Wilshere in the squad.

Even if he was to be re-signed and not play much he could have a huge impact on the young players at the club.

He’s Arsenal through and through, playing a part in two FA Cup winning sides.

It’s hard to see what the future does hold for Wilshere if he doesn’t get some sort of deal with Arsenal.

A failed move to West Ham led to his spell at Bournemouth before his release at the end of last season.

It seems that there aren’t any clubs willing to take the punt on him.

If this continue, then Arsenal may be his only chance of remaining in football.
