Arsenal are preparing for a crucial north London derby on Sunday against bitter rivals Tottenham – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have urged their manager Mikel Arteta to start Nicolas Pepe.
The Gunners travel to Spurs this weekend for a Premier League clash, with the loser left with an uphill task to secure European football this season.
Arteta’s side sit eighth in the league table going into the fixture, while their rivals are a point behind them in ninth.
Arsenal go into the fixture in great form with 10 points from their last four games to see them climb up the table and there is a positivity growing at the Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, Spurs have seven points in their recent four league matches and managed zero shots on target during a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth on Thursday.
A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media have insisted that attacker Pepe should come into the starting XI for the north London showdown.
The 25-year-old missed the recent clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers as his wife went into labour, plus he was an unused substitute in the last game against Leicester City.
But the right-winger has eight goals and eight assists across all competitions during his debut season in English football and is a speedster that is dangerous cutting in on his left foot.
Here are some Arsenal fans on Pepe:
I’d start Pepe then bring saka on around 70th minute
