It was reported recently that Arsenal were interested in securing the services of Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
The Mirror claimed that the Gunners were one of many clubs vying for the services of the £30m-rated player.
Now, Locatelli’s stock looks to be rising. He fired two goals last night as Italy beat Switzerland 3-0 at Euro 2020.

Interestingly, the 23-year-old hasn’t enjoyed a great campaign at club level. He has scored four goals and registered three assists from 34 appearances.
Nonetheless, his form at the European Championship will be making his admirers stand up and take notice.
His brace last night gave Italy a big win and fired them into the knockout stages of Euro 2020.
He has now started both games at the tournament and his goals last night should earn him plenty of opportunities under Roberto Mancini.
Arsenal could be on the lookout for a central midfielder or two this summer.
Granit Xhaka is set to leave, whilst Dani Ceballos has returned to Real Madrid.
That leaves Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny has options and new midfielders will be sought.
Ruben Neves is one name linked with a move to the Gunners, with Yves Bissouma another name in the mix.
Arsenal fans want Locatelli signed
The 23-year-old is a popular name among the Gunners faithful and plenty want him at the Emirates Stadium.
It seems a popular opinion that the young Italian would be a great addition to Mikel Arteta’s midfield ranks.

Manchester City, PSG and Juventus have all been linked with a move for the player this summer.
As a result, Arsenal might face a tough task in landing him but at £30 million he looks a steal.
Last night’s game saw him showcase his talents and afterwards, the Gunners fans saw fit to react on Twitter.
Here is what they had to say as Locatelli stole the show against Switzerland.
