A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that the Gunners should target Matheus Pereira after Mikel Arteta’s side’s win on Sunday sent West Brom down.
Arsenal beat the Baggies 3-1 at the Emirates. It was a decent performance from the home side, with Emile Smith Rowe, Nicolas Pepe and Willian getting on the scoresheet.

But Sam Allardyce’s men certainly managed to ask questions of the Gunners. And no player seemed to ask more than Pereira.
The 25-year-old has been a shining light for West Brom, particularly in the second-half of the campaign. He is now into double figures for Premier League goals this season.
His tenth goal came on Sunday after a superb solo run during the second-half. Pereira collected the ball halfway inside his own half. He then proceeded to drive forward and find the bottom corner with an effort from just outside the box.

Many Arsenal fans focused on Dani Ceballos’s inability to get near Pereira. But several Gunners supporters looked at Pereira’s performance and suggested that he is exactly the kind of player Arsenal need to sign this summer.
He is a player with the ability to completely change a game. Not only is he West Brom’s top goalscorer, but no player has contributed more assists than the Brazilian.
And he has proved that he can make a devastating impact against some of the best sides in the league. Whoscored gave his recent display against Chelsea a perfect 10, with two goals and two assists coming that day at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal may have to consider how to replace Martin Odegaard this summer. It remains to be seen where the Norwegian will be playing next year.
And some supporters have suggested that signing Pereira would be a very good move, particularly if Odegaard does not stay beyond this campaign.
One supporter compared Pereira with Philippe Coutinho. And plenty insisted that he is exactly the kind of player that Arsenal need.
Pereira may not cost an eye-watering sum. Of course, West Brom have now been relegated, so that should certainly ensure that clubs do not need to break the bank.
And it would not take a lot for the Baggies to make a big profit on him. Remarkably, he cost just £8.25 million and is on around £30,000-a-week at the Hawthorns (via Telegraph).
With West Brom set to lose a number of their best players when their loanees return to their parent clubs – including Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who will soon return to the Emirates – they may welcome the opportunity to cash in on a couple of their marquee players.
Pereira is certainly one who should be able to help the Baggies fund an overhaul of their squad.
And there are plenty of Arsenal fans who would clearly be disappointed if another Premier League club acted before they did and brought Pereira in ahead of next season.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Arsenal supporters were saying about the magician during Sunday’s clash with West Brom…
