Norwich City took another step closer to an instant return to the Premier League last night, with defender Max Aarons once again catching the eye of Arsenal supporters on Twitter.
The Canaries have now won nine games on the spin in the Championship and sit 10 points clear at the top of their division. Last night, Norwich defeated Nottingham Forest, with Aarons instrumental once more.
Daniel Farke has done well to get his team focused again after last season’s capitulation. The club were truly awful following Project Restart and were relegated with nothing more than a whimper.

They have grown into the current campaign and deserve to be sat at the summit of the Championship. Their lead at the top is so significant that it’s merely a case of when and not if they will be promoted.
One beautiful aspect of Farke’s team this season is that a large number of the players from last year were kept together. The likes of Aarons, Teemu Pukki, Emi Buendia and Todd Cantwell were all persuaded to stay.
There have been lots of standout candidates for Player of the Year but the England under-21 star has to be right towards the top of the list of candidates.
Aarons has been valued at £35 million by Norwich and based on his form over the last 12 months it’s easy to see why.
He is a right-back who fits the modern-day mould down to the ground. He is supreme in the tackle, gets forward well and is also capable of whipping decent balls into the box.
The 21-year-old has started every game for Norwich this season and despite his tender years, he has made 122 appearances for the Canaries, scoring four goals.
Future star
Despite his current club being on the cusp of something special and a return to the Premier League, the talk will invariably turn towards his future plans.
Clubs will undoubtedly circle the Canaries in the summer and Arsenal are one of many clubs that could be in the market for a right-back when the window reopens.
Hector Bellerin has been linked with a move away from the Gunners in recent times. CBS Sports claimed that PSG and Barcelona were both keen to add the Spaniard to their ranks this summer.
If he was to end his long association with Arsenal, Mikel Arteta would almost certainly need to look for some reinforcements – and why not Aarons.

The Norwich academy graduate would fit the profile of an Arsenal signing down to the ground. He is young but the great aspect of signing him is that he already has plenty of experience.
He would be capable of slotting seamlessly into Arsenal’s defensive ranks and he’d bring some serious quality to the right-hand side of the pitch.
Indeed, Gunners fans certainly think so. After helping Norwich to a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest last night, fans took to Twitter to speak of their desire to see Aarons on the ‘carpet’ at the Emirates.
