Arsenal fans want club to sign Myron Boadu after Monday heroics

Myron Boadu stole the show as Holland under-21 came from behind to defeat France under-21 – and Arsenal fans lost their minds.

The Dutch side trailed after Dayot Upamecano’s opening goal but a brace from the young forward saw them home.

Boadu’s winner came in the final minute of stoppage time and secured a last four place for Holland.

The youngster will see his stock rise this summer and Arsenal fans are keen to see him signed up.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

Foot Mercato have previously linked Boadu with a move to North London and they’ll be monitoring him closely.

Boadu is at the under-21 European Championships on the back of a tremendous season.

He has found the bet 15 times and claimed two assists from 38 games during 2020/21.

The AZ starlet looks destined for a really bright future and to play for a bigger club than the Dutch outfit.

A report in 2020 claimed that AZ valued their prized asset at £18 million, although that could now be considerably more.

Nonetheless, the club will be fielding some calls over the coming months and Arsenal fans hope Mikel Arteta has AZ on speed-dial.

He took his goals tremendously well last night and sent an extremely strong France team packing.

Where would Boadu fit at Arsenal?

With Alexandre Lacazette deliberating over a departure and Eddie Nketiah yet to convince Arteta, a new striker is needed.

Boadu could be the ideal long-term replacement for Lacazette who fired 17 goals for the Gunners last season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been used out wide more often than not and he too won’t be at Arsenal forever.

Arteta’s team won’t be in Europe next season. With that in mind, the club could be forced to shop in a different market.

If they can add Boadu he could be the ideal sort of player to get the club back on track – and their supporters certainly agree.

What have they said about Boadu?

Holland under-21 coach Erwin van de Looi has raved about the player in the past.

He has watched him flourish in his under-21 ranks and back in May 2020 he raved about the youngster.

The head coach told Goal: “He is so cool in front of goal and so dangerous from deep. He has that ability to just score and that is a real talent.”

His finishing qualities are clearly his main strength and that could make him a quality signing for Arsenal.

Following last night’s performance, the Arsenal faithful have taken to Twitter to rave about the youngster.

They believe he would be capable of making a stunning impact at the Emirates Stadium.

Eighth place won’t be good enough next season and Arteta needs players capable of securing European qualification.

Here is a look at what the Arsenal contingent of supporters were saying on Twitter after Boadu’s stunning performance last night.
