Arsenal fans urge Mikel Arteta to recall Unai Emery signing against Manchester City

Arsenal return to action on Wednesday evening as they travel to the Etihad to take on Manchester City and Mikel Arteta has a number of selection decisions to make to his side – with fans urging him to recall a defender.

The Gunners come into the match after remaining unbeaten in the Premier League since the turn of the year. However, with 10 league games to play, The Gunners remain in ninth place – and eight points off the top four.

Arteta has seen his side beat Charlton Athletic 6-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly, but also suffer a 3-2 loss to Brentford. He is likely to be without three first-team players for Wednesday night’s clash.

Lucas Torreira has a slight chance of making the side as he continues his recovery from a fractured ankle. Claum Chambers will definitely miss out, as will Cedric Soares who is suffering with a facial injury.

Kieran Tierney, though, has recovered from a dislocated shoulder and impressed in the recent friendlies. The £25million Unai Emery signing has only played 11 times this season, failing to play in 2020 or under Arteta.

Many Gunners fans are desperate to see the former Celtic star start for Arsenal as they look to cope with Manchester City’s obvious attacking talent and maintain their unbeaten run.
