Arsenal fans think club should strike swap involving Lucas Torreira, amid reports of Wednesday talks

Lucas Torreira is reportedly set to join Fiorentina permanently after talks – but Arsenal fans want him included in a swap deal, for Dusan Vlahovic.

Torreira, 25, joined Fiorentina in the summer on a loan-to-buy deal after Atletico Madrid chose not to extend his stay. A £13million clause is included.

The Uruguay international has started seven of Fiorentina’s 11 Serie A games – keeping his place in the starting XI for La Viola’s last four outings.

A report from CalcioMercato states that after talks between Fiorentina and the player’s agent, a permanent £13million deal is likely for Torreira.

Mikel Arteta has not been convinced by Torreira since joining – preferring the likes of Granit Xhaka and Mo Elneny, while signing Thomas Partey.

An exit is likely, then. Meanwhile, Arsenal are said to be interested in one of Torreira’s teammates – Serbia international Vlahovic, and no wonder why.

The 21-year-old scored 21 Serie A goals last season, and has 10 in 13 this term. Di Marzio said talks have been held for the £68million-rated ace.
