Arsenal fans are all saying the same thing about Adam Wharton after his heroics for Crystal Palace against Aston Villa

Arsenal are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as they look to strengthen their ranks in pursuit of silverware.

Although the Gunners really could do with reinforcements up front, a new midfielder or two wouldn’t go amiss at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal midfield duo Thomas Partey and Jorginho are out of contract in the summer and the likelihood is they’ll be on the move.

Arsenal have been linked with Adam Wharton in recent weeks and Gunners fans have now reacted to his return to Crystal Palace’s starting XI.

Arsenal fans call for Adam Wharton signing

Adam Wharton has been going from strength to strength at Palace, to the point he made the England squad for Euro 2024.

However, the £22million man has been sidelined for much of the season due to a groin injury that required surgery in November last year.

Wharton has been eased back into action over the past few weeks and, on Tuesday night, he made his first start since October.

He was instrumental as Palace hammered Aston Villa 4-1 at Selhurst Park, leading to Arsenal fans calling for him to be signed.

“Arsenal should try and sign Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace in the summer,” one fan wrote on X. “Brilliant midfielder.”

Another said: “Adam Wharton, what a player. That is a CM I would love to have at Arsenal.”

The praise kept coming, with one Arsenal supporter saying: Arsenal need to be snapping up Adam Wharton. Rather him than Zubimendi.”

Another said: “If we don’t get Zubimendi then Wharton should be on the list of alternates.”

“If we don’t get Zubimendi then I wouldn’t mind trying to get Wharton,” said another message. “Good player who’s ready for another step up.”

And another Arsenal fan simply said: “Go and buy Adam Wharton.”

How Adam Wharton fared in Crystal Palace win over Aston Villa

Wharton delivered an impressive performance as he ran the show for Palace and played a part in three of their goals against Villa.

He made three key passes in the game, won all but two of his duels on the night, chipped in defensively, and did great in pushing his side up the pitch.

It’ll be exciting to see how Wharton continues to develop and, if he maintains the same trajectory, it would not be surprising to see him at an elite club.

Arsenal fans are certainly keen on Wharton, but the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly also looking at Wharton.
