Arsenal are reportedly looking to rival Scottish champions Celtic over a move to sign Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster this summer as the Gunners look for back-up to Bernd Leno – and Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter.

The Sun have claimed that Arsenal want the 32-year-old star after he impressed on loan at Celtic, even producing some stunning performances in the Europa League – including a brick-wall effort against Lazio in Italy.

Matt Macey is Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper but the Gunners are likely to want another stopper to rival Germany international Leno and Forster could be that man – after an impressive 17 clean sheets in 39 games this term.

Celtic are desperate to keep Forster and Neil Lennon has stated he will do everything he can to keep the 6ft 7in giant between the Parkhead sticks. But Arsenal are likely to have a financial advantage over the Bhoys.

Arsenal fans responded on Twitter to the news that their club are reportedly interested in raiding Southampton and beating Celtic for Forster, and many are all for the idea of Forster as Leno’s cover.
