The report claims that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta dropped Guendouzi from the squad against Newcastle as a “clear warning” to the young midfielder.
Arteta was reportedly unhappy with Guendouzi’s attitude during the Gunners’ winter break in Dubai and decided to show who’s boss, the omission said to be “the talk of the dressing room”.
The report in the outlets appears somewhat at odds with the Football London report from a week ago claiming Arsenal were ready to open contract talks with the 20-year-old.
Nonetheless, with Arteta seemingly taking a strong stance against any player who’s not showing the right “levels and performances” in training, it appears to be worrying news for Guendouzi.
Here is what some Arsenal fans have been saying on social media:
He’s too erratic and emotional,he has to put his head down and work on his attitude

I agree. But people should also consider his age. He’s still very young, hasn’t matured yet. Hopefully he will learn and change for the better.

Really hope we give him time and he comes good. Big potential.

He’s helped Arsenal in some games when senior players went missing. A young lad that is learning. Give him time.

Too young to have this problem. His Career is at stake. Sad.

Right he is such a liability that PSG and Bayern and other big clubs would snatch him up in a heartbeat. Cmon man he is a good player with lots of potential he just had a dust up with MA and hopefully it is resolved and he gets back to playing

He is young, this is part of the growing process, hopefully he will learn from it and improve. Promising player.

This better not be true.

Guendouzi was a somewhat unknown addition when he arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2018 from French club Lorient for a reported £7million plus bonuses (Goal.com).
However, Guendouzi quickly worked his way into Gunners first-team contention, and has made 77 senior appearances to date, including 29 in all competitions this season (Transfermarkt).
The Frenchman also won the club’s Player of the Month award in September, receiving 48 percent of the votes cast.
