Arsenal fans reply to Miguel Azeez’s tweet ahead of Europa League tie

The Arsenal fans hoping to see Miguel Azeez make his first-team debut imminently believe that they have moved a step closer to getting their wish following the midfielder’s tweet on Tuesday.

Azeez is certainly making waves for the Gunners’ under-23s. He is often emerging as the standout performer amongst a side that has talent all over the pitch – and often includes first-team stars making their way back from injury.

The 18-year-old is yet to be handed a chance by Mikel Arteta. But you could understand why Azeez getting that opportunity before the end of the season seems inevitable to many.

And some are now hopeful that his latest tweet is a sign that he may have an outside chance of making his senior bow this week.

Azeez posted a picture of himself at an airport and tagged the Europa League. The club have since confirmed that he has travelled with the squad for Thursday’s clash with Molde.

Arteta will have to make a number of changes to his side following their weekend draw. Both Willian and Bukayo Saka came off injured. And it remains to be seen what the plans for Nicolas Pepe are following his red card.

Of course, those changes may not have an impact on Azeez given his position in the side. But his cause should certainly be helped by Arteta potentially having so many unavailable players.

Several supporters clearly want to see Azeez get a chance. Plenty replied to the teenager’s tweet expressing their hope that his debut may be just around the corner.

Here is Azeez’s tweet, as well as some of the best responses…
