Arsenal fans react to Willian reports
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun claiming that Inter Miami have pulled out of a move for Willian.
Arsenal appear to be stepping up their intent in this window. But of course, one of the key factors that will determine how many players they can bring is is how many they can offload.
And it seems that they may have hoped to move Willian on before too long.
According to The Sun, Inter Miami had wanted to make the 32-year-old one of their designated players. However, those hopes have now been dashed.
It is claimed that Willian wanted wages of £167,000-a-week. To put that into context, their highest-paid player right now is on around £80,000-a-week.
Unsurprisingly, the Major League Soccer side have reportedly brought an end to their interest.
And those reports have not gone down at all well on social media.
Willian, of course, did not have a good season. He scored once and provided just five assists in the Premier League. Two of those came on the opening day.
He is also on £192,000-a-week, according to Spotrac. So it would have been a big boost for Arsenal to move his wages off the books.
‘Looks like he’s staying’: Arsenal fans react to Willian update
However, if they do hope to get him out of the club, it appears that they are going to have to find another home for him.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Arsenal fans have reacted to the latest reports…
