William Saliba started once again for Arsenal’s Under-23s side on Friday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were raving about his individual performance.
The Gunners youth team secured a 3-1 victory against Derby County in the Premier League 2 fixture, as they scored two quick-fire goals in the second-half to clinch three points.
There was a fair amount of experience in the backline for the North London club with Calum Chambers and Pablo Mari, plus there was also a spot for teenager Saliba.

Saliba is a ball-playing centre-back that cruised through Friday night’s game for the most part and he showed his quality in possession with a driving run forward, which was in the build up to one of his team’s goals.
The 19-year-old was tipped by many to compete for a spot this season with the first-team, but he’s been miles off that and is having to earn his stripes at youth level.
A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media were impressed by Saliba’s latest performance for the Under-23s side and are convinced that he should be in contention for first-team action at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite the fact he impressed in French football with Saint-Etienne last year, senior boss Mikel Arteta is yet to give him his debut for Arsenal and he’s far down the centre-half pecking order.
