A number of fans have lauded Hector Bellerin after a clip emerged on Twitter showing the Arsenal defender handing his jacket to one of the mascots ahead of the Carabao Cup tie with Liverpool.
Bellerin was in an interesting position heading into the trip to Anfield. The situation surrounding the Arsenal captaincy has been widely debated since Granit Xhaka’s substitution at the weekend.

It was the right-back who wore the armband on Merseyside. Bellerin had been lauded by many for a fantastic social media post following the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
And while the Gunners were knocked out of the Carabao Cup, Bellerin has once again emerged from the game with a lot of credit, particularly after one gesture before the tie.

The Spaniard was getting ready to lead his team out when he noticed that the mascot set to walk out with him was cold. Without hesitation, the defender removes his jacket and puts it on the youngster.
And after the clip emerged on social media, a number of supporters have lauded Bellerin. Plenty have suggested that he has recently shown in a number of ways why he is the right man to lead Arsenal ahead of Xhaka.
It does appear that it would be a popular move for Emery to hand the full-back the armband on a permanent basis moving forward. In what has been a difficult week for Arsenal, Bellerin has conducted himself with a lot of class.
Here is the clip of Bellerin’s gesture, as well as some of the responses from fans…
