Atletico Madrid sent Liverpool crashing out of the Champions League last night with the heroics of Jan Oblak undoubtedly a major factor.
But he was not the only Atleti player who deserved credit. Felipe was colossal in defence whilst Marcos Llorente proved pivotal off the bench. One player who appeared to catch the eye of Arsenal fans was Ghanaian international Thomas Partey.
The 26-year-old put in a fantastic performance in the heart of Los Colchoneros’ midfield, which had a host of Arsenal fans begging for his transfer on Twitter.

Partey has recently been linked with Arsenal. As reported by Libertad Digital, Arsenal are willing to pay Partey’s relatively low release clause of €50 million (£44m) in the summer.
That report has created plenty of buzz among the Arsenal fanbase that Partey might be the perfect signing to help galvanise Arsenal’s midfield position.
Based on his performance at Anfield yesterday, there is no doubt that this is the case. Of course, convincing him to make a move to North London would not be easy. Judging by the reaction on Twitter, however, Arsenal fans are hoping the club at least try.
