Arsenal fans react to Shkodran Mustafi’s performance in goalless draw at Burnley

Arsenal remain in tenth place in the Premier League after their 0-0 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor yesterday.

Jay Rodriguez missed a close range chance to grab all three points for the hosts in the second half on an afternoon where Arsenal again failed to build attacking momentum away from home.

Perhaps the main positive was a clean sheet and Shkodran Mustafi was back in the side after suffering an injury in the 2-1 victory at Bournemouth on Monday.

Mustafi has had some severe criticism during his spell at the Emirates Stadium and made a high-profile mistake against Chelsea lately, but looks to have recovered well.

That earned him plenty of praise from some Arsenal fans on Twitter, with some saying he was the Gunners’ best player on the day.

It can’t have been easy for Mustafi to rebuild his reputation and confidence this season but under Mikel Arteta, he appears to be making steps in that direction.

The way he has come back into the fold after looking set for the exit door last summer under Unai Emery deserves recognition and the supporters will hope to see more of the same.
