Arsenal have been linked with a big-money move to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to French news outlet Le 10 Sport.
The Gunners are likely to be in the market for a new striker, especially if they allow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave the club in the summer.
Dembele isn’t going to come cheap for Arsenal and Lyon are thought to value his services at £72 million.
He does boast a decent goalscoring record though since his £19.7 million move from Celtic in 2017 (BBC).
In 88 games for the Ligue 1 outfit, he has amassed 88 appearances, scoring 42 goals and registering 13 assists.
At Celtic, he was equally lethal scoring 51 goals in 94 appearances for the Hoops before moving to France.
Despite this, it would seem that some Arsenal fans aren’t convinced the club should be targeting the striker.
Alexandre Lacazette arrived from Lyon and after promising start, his Arsenal career has stagnated somewhat.
The talisman signed in 2017 for £46.5 million and some fans believe signing Dembele from the same club would represent a mistake.
With that in mind, some supporters took to Twitter to vent their frustration at this latest link.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Gunners faithful regarding the rumours of a swoop for Dembele.
I think this is where we’re going wrong. Shopping in England I think would benefit us more, like what Liverpool done
