Arsenal have inquired with Fiorentina about midfielder Jordan Veretout over a summer switch, according to French outlet L’Equipe.
They report that the Gunners are among a host of clubs keen on taking the midfielder after an impressive season in Serie A.
Veretout joined the Italian side back in 2017, from Aston Villa, for a fee that ESPN reported at the time was in the region of 7 million euros (£6.2 million).
And it seems he has got his career back on track after an ill-fated spell in the Premier League at Villa Park, where the club was on a downward trajectory and a mess behind the scenes.

It seems as if the poor impact he made during that time has stuck in the minds of Arsenal fans, who really do not seem to want him at their club next season.
Many seem to see him as a worse option than Dennis Praet, while others see targeting him as another sign of their club’s lack of ambition.
It seems as if Veretout has improved a lot since leaving England but whether he can fix the issues in the Arsenal midfield is another matter entirely…
