Arsenal fans react to reports Lacazette has been offered in Bale swap bid
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Defensa Central claiming that the Gunners have offered Real Madrid a swap deal involving Alexandre Lacazette and Gareth Bale.
Lacazette looks set to be on the move sooner or later. As noted in the report, his contract at the Emirates expires next summer.
Of course, that means that he can discuss a pre-contract move with foreign clubs in January. But it has been claimed that Arsenal have attempted to take a bit more control of the situation.
In fact, Defensa Central suggested that they offered Lacazette to Real. In return, they wanted Bale.
The move is not going to happen. The report claims that Bale’s wages are too high for the Gunners. Los Blancos meanwhile, have no interest in Lacazette.
But understandably, it does not appear that many supporters are buying the idea that a potential deal even got that far along the line.
Bale is obviously strongly connected with Tottenham. And he has endured another frustrating campaign with injury in the Spanish capital.
‘No way’: Arsenal fans react to reports Lacazette was offered in Bale swap bid
It would be one of the most surprising and baffling swap deals in recent history if the two clubs agreed such a move.
Unsurprisingly, plenty of Arsenal fans are struggling to get their head around the report. They certainly have their doubts about the likelihood of the Gunners offering Lacazette in the hope of landing Bale.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
