Arsenal are being linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou.
Zagadou is viewed as one of Europe’s brightest defensive prospects having impressed since joining the Bundesliga side from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
The 6ft 5in colossus has made 38 appearances for the German runners-up and had struck up a great partnership with Manuel Akanji before injury interrupted his season.
Apparently Arsenal accept that a transfer for Zagadou would be difficult to pull off, despite the fact that Dortmund have just completed a £34 million deal for Mats Hummels (The Guardian).
The former Germany international is back at Signal Iduna Park after three seasons at Bayern Munich, and could take Zagadou’s place in the starting XI in 2019/20.
Arsenal fans react
The report has split Arsenal fans on Twitter.
Some would love to see exciting youngster Zagadou pitch up at the Emirates Stadium this summer, while some are not getting carried away over the interest in yet another player:
For real Zagadou or Diallo would be so good for us right now maybe see if we can do a loan with an option to buy to save funds for other areas

Can’t afford him and he is pretty error prone still

Why target him if we know we can’t afford him? Absolutely pathetic.

We have become a laughing stock. We now accept that we will scamper when quoted a price. So why bother
