Barcelona have identified Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette as a possible transfer target this summer.
The Express report that club officials were watching the Frenchman in action against Valencia on Thursday, when he scored two goals to put the Gunners in firm control of their Europa League semi-final.
The £46.5 million (rising to £52.6 million – BBC Sport) signing from Lyon has enjoyed a great season at the Emirates Stadium, making 46 appearances and scoring 18 goals.
He was recently voted Arsenal’s Player of the Season for his contributions, ahead of 25-goal Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Express claim Barca are also looking at Lacazette’s compatriot Antoine Griezmann, as they seemingly seek to prepare for life after Luis Suarez who turned 32 earlier this year.
Lacazette is being eyed for £70 million by Barca according to The Express, but the Catalan giants will surely need to fork out considerably more than that for a player who is contracted until 2022.
Arsenal fans react
A number of Gunners fans took to social media to throw their two cents in over the reports. The general consensus is that all-round striker Lacazette is a vital player for the club who simply should not be allowed to leave this summer:
Barcelona are interested in Lacazette? It’s pretty simple. Either offer a swap deal for Messi, Alba & Umtiti or look elsewhere. Cheers, @FCBarcelona.

Don’t sell Lacazette @Arsenal.
I repeat, DON’T SELL HIM! I don’t care what Barcelona or other teams offer for him, he needs to stay!
The man brings too much sauce to the club! 🔥

Go away Barcelona, Lacazette is NOT for sale.
Says a lot about where we are that this is the first time in probably 8 years that a Barcelona/Real Madrid have shown an interest in one of our players. And yes he is that good. Arsenal better not sell Lacazette. Should be building the team around him next season.
