Arsenal fans react to reported move for James Rodriguez

Arsenal were linked with a move to Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez this weekend and supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss his potential arrival at the Emirates Stadium.

The Colombian star has lost his way at the Bernabeu playing just 13 times in all competitions during the 2019/20 campaign.

Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his desire to sign ball-playing midfielders and Marca claims the Spaniard will insist on signing Rodriguez.

After a stunning 2014 World Cup in which he won the golden boot with six goals, Rodriguez earned a big-money switch to Real Madrid.

Although he’s done okay during his time in the Spanish capital, boss Zinedine Zidane hasn’t viewed him as a first-team regular this season.

Madrid’s loss will be someone else’s gain but Arsenal fans seem unanimous that Rodriguez isn’t the player for them.

Many believe that the 28-year-old who has won two Champions League titles is way past his best.

Arsenal boss Arteta has utilised the club’s academy considerably since arriving and it would seem that some would prefer that approach moving forward.
