Arsenal have been linked with Manchester City defender Eric Garcia – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by insisting they don’t want to sign him.
A selection of Gunners fans on social media have all brought up the name William Saliba, who is a £40,000-a-week centre-half (Spotrac) at the Emirates Stadium that can’t get a game this season.
Despite impressing out on loan with French club Saint-Etienne last year, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is yet to give the 19-year-old his first-team debut since he linked up with the club in the summer.
The Sun reports that the North London outfit are now interested in centre-back Eric Garcia, who is a 19-year-old talent at Premier League and Champions League club Man City.
It is understood that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the £13.5million-rated defender, but may need to wait to try sign him until the summer when his Man City contract expires due to the fact they have too many centre-back.
The report adds that the player has previously tried to force a move back to Barcelona, who are prepared to wait for him in the summer due to financial restrictions.
The Spanish teenager has played seven first-team games so far this campaign for Man City and has shown he’s got big potential, but he views his future away from the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal already have so many options in the heart of defence within their squad, which is why Saliba has only played for the Under-23s side this season much to the surprise of neutrals.
The French teenager is being completely overlooked and is not deemed ready for senior action with the Gunners, so speculation linking them to another young centre-back is not good news.
