Arsenal fans react to reported interest in Layvin Kurzawa

Arsenal have reportedly made contact with PSG over a move for left-back Layvin Kurzawa – and some Gunners’ fans on Twitter are not pleased with the rumours.

The Daily Mail has claimed that the club have made an initial inquiry about signing the 27-year-old French defender this month on a cut-price deal. His current contract runs out in the summer and he may seek a new challenge after a successful spell at PSG.

The 27-year-old has made just 11 appearances in Ligue 1 this season and is no longer the first choice full-back at the Parc des Princes. He will have half an eye on the European Championships in the summer and a move to Arsenal could give him a chance of a place in the squad.

Mikel Arteta could do with signing a new left-back after Kieran Tierney was ruled out for two months. The young Scottish international suffered a dislocated shoulder and that leaves the club with just one senior left-back. Kurzawa would come in and provide some competition for Sead Kolasinac on the left side and could even become the preferred choice.

His experience in big games on the biggest of stages could benefit an Arsenal team that lacks character at times. The former Monaco man is a serial winner and would certainly help with the Gunners squad depth if nothing else.

However, some fans are not convinced. They feel that Kurzawa is not the caliber of player that the club should be targeting and have expressed their discontent on Twitter. Here is what some supporters had to say about the links:
