Arsenal fans react to report on Gunners’ interest in Martin Odegaard deal

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to a report from the Daily Mail which has provided an update on Martin Odegaard’s future beyond this season.

After a mixed start to life with the Gunners, the Norwegian appears to have stepped his game up in recent times.

The 22-year-old has scored in Arsenal’s last two fixtures, including the equaliser in Sunday’s win over Tottenham. And it appears that Mikel Arteta is hoping that it is not the last North London derby Odegaard features in.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal would like to keep the youngster beyond his loan. It is suggested that the Gunners would be open to keeping him permanently.

The Mail notes that talks with Real Madrid will be held at the end of the season. But it remains to be seen what Los Blancos’ stance on Odegaard’s future will be.

Spanish outlet Defensa Central previously claimed that Madrid were left annoyed by Odegaard responding to a question about his future by insisting that you never know what will happen.

That report claimed that Zinedine Zidane’s men see his long-term future at the Bernabeu. So based on that, Arsenal may have an uphill battle trying to keep him beyond this season.
